About the Event
Join us at Ocean Night Berlin and be part of the change. The ocean is our life-source, and it is under threat.
Celebrate marine life and learn how you can support the oceans on this first ever ocean night at UHU Berlin. Enjoy an intimate evening of immersive sound, sauna and connection with the ocean and yourself. This event will raise money to support M.E.E.R, a registered NGO in Germany working to protect marine life in the Atlantic Ocean. Come to reduce stress in your life, enjoy a sauna session and make a positive impact in our local Berlin community.
Event includes:
- A workshop to expand creativity & build connection with the Ocean & each other
- Sauna with herbal infusions
- Healthy bar with fresh juices, water and tea
- Sounds of the Ocean concert with immersive sound
- Presentation of NGO MEER and how to support ocean conservation locally
Non-Profit Partner:
M.E.E.R - @m.e.e.r.ev
The purpose of the association is the promotion of environmental protection, science and education, especially the protection of the cetaceans (whales and dolphins) and their marine habitat as well as the research of the cetaceans off La Gomera (Canary Islands). The project M.E.E.R. La Gomera started in 1997. In 1998 the association itself was founded. With our work we want to contribute to the public awareness about the needs of the oceans and the seas.
Facilitator: Fabian Ritter
I'm with MEER eV because I'm overwhelmed by the beauty and importance of the oceans - and their inhabitants. It is a need for me - and at the same time a dream of mine - to work for the protection of animals and their habitat. With MEER I was in the fortunate position of making this dream come true. The fact that the association has been doing its valuable work for two decades fills me with pride and gratitude. I met a lot of interesting people through the club and made a lot of friends. MEER is not a job for me, but a vocation. SEA is an important part of my life. Its content does not just come from the heads of those involved, but from their hearts.
Sounds of the Ocean Concert:
Sounds of the Ocean is an immersive mindful experience to connect deeply with yourself and marine life. We combine recordings of whales and dolphins with live instruments to drop you into a deep state of rest to nourish the body, mind and spirit. In this meditative concert, we will guide you to a depth of 3000ft beneath the ocean surface to experience what life is like in the ocean. You will hear instruments such as the clarinet, saxophone, piano, cello, handpan, kalimba, singing bowls and ambient percussion performed live by Joshua Sam Miller. This offering has been featured at the United Nations Ocean Conference, Burning Man Festival and has toured internationally since 2019 in North & Central America, Europe and the Middle East.

Joshua Sam Miller - @joshua.sam.miller
Joshua leads the Sounds of the Ocean team as a sound and visual artist, music producer and ocean conservationist. He strives to reduce stress in people's lives by building connection back to the natural world through immersive art. He grew up playing clarinet, but really wanted to play drums, so now he does both and mixes ambient percussion with melody to transport listeners to a deep state of rest. In 2021, he presented his work at the United Nations COP 26 Climate Conference and has participated in workshops at iconic festivals & venues such as Garbicz Festival, Agape Zoe, World Ocean’s Day and Burning Man. He is driven by passion to raise environmental awareness by curating immersive sound and visual experiences in support of ocean conservation work around the world.

Water Ritual & Connection Workshop:
Katharina will dive with you into an energetic & ritualistic exploration of water. As water literally governs all processes of life on earth, in the cosmos and in the human body, it is the direct pathway to tune our consciousness into the web of life. We will connect to water through our intention and experience the healing power of crystalline water together through prayer, toning and movement. You are invited to discover how to honor the essence of life in a more profound way.
Facilitator - Katharina Louise
Katharina Louise is a multi-disciplinary artist, spaceholder, researcher and ritualist. Her work is especially rooted in the study of European earth-spirituality, in archetypal mythology and in the ancient goddess tradition. One of her main teachers are the waters of which she is a curious devotee and student. Fascinated by the ever-changing nature of creation, Kat sees part of her service to restore a meaningful relationship to grief and death and with that to life. She is a proud daughter of this Earth and naturally loves to create and guard spaces that honor the Mother in all her forms.
